AI-TIE in a nutshell

AI success stories of Finnish SMEs and tools for AI deployment 

AI stories and tools presented in www.aistories.fi portal were created as part of AI-TIE project. The mission of AI Technology Innovation Ecosystems for Competitiveness of SMEs, more briefly the AI-TIE project, was to support SMEs in business development and growth by promoting the use artificial intelligence solutions through AI accelerators, training and an AI ecosystem. The objective was to facilitate the development and piloting of AI solutions that optimize internal processes as well as lead to innovation of new products and services. The project aimed to move the AI discussion from the general level towards industry-specific training, mentoring and AI accelerator activities.

Duration: June 2021 – August 2023

The project owner was Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and the co-owner Laurea University of Applied Sciences.

AI-TIE goals

  • Supporting companies in improving their internal processes utilizing AI solutions.
  • Helping companies develop new intangible digital products and innovative services through AI solutions.
  • Offering training, materials and online content to help companies develop their AI capabilities through staff training.
  • Developing the skills of business advisors and experts working with SMEs so that they can more effectively provide information about the possibilities of AI when consulting SMEs.
  • Advancing an artificial intelligence innovation ecosystem to offer a new operating model, where SMEs, large companies and other key players can interact successfully.
